Week 2: Thing 3 - Avatar
Wow, that took a while. There were a lot of options to choose from on the Avatar tool. Not too many relating to libraries though. And there is a distinct anime look to the characters. Too bad for you if you don't like that stylization. Still, it was fun to design an avatar and to have as much control as I did.
Week 1: Thing 2 - Messed Up Already!
OK, so now I know my answer to the habits I find easy and difficult are considered to be part of Thing 2, since I was on Thing 2 when I read and selected the habits. I put them under Thing 3 since they were part of my first blog post and that is part of Thing 3. Confusing! Since the posts go in order of most recent post first, my ordination of Things will be in a slightly unconventional order. Please see Week 2: Thing 3 below for my description of easiest and hardest habits.
Week 2: Thing 3 - Continued
Something I find frustrating about this blog software is that once I copied and pasted the 7 1/2 habits of lifelong learners, I couldn't undo the indentation that got imported with it. I like to have control over my formatting, but I couldn't find a way to get the rest of the blog text to go back to the left margin.
Week 2: Thing 3 - On My Way
Welcome to my blog. I will be making entries as I learn new tools on the web and I will share any insights I gain along the way. So far, I'm tickled to see all the interesting gadgets I can add to my blog. Thank you to everyone who has developed and shared these gadgets!
I have viewed the tutorial about the 7 1/2 Habits of Highly Successful Lifelong Learners and want to share the habit that I find the most difficult and the habit that is easiest for me. From the list of habits:
I have viewed the tutorial about the 7 1/2 Habits of Highly Successful Lifelong Learners and want to share the habit that I find the most difficult and the habit that is easiest for me. From the list of habits:
Habit 1: Begin with the end in mind
Habit 2: Accept responsibility for your own learning
Habit 3: View problems as challenges
Habit 4: Have confidence in yourself as a competent, effective learner
Habit 5: Create your own learning toolbox
Habit 6: Use technology to your advantage
Habit 7: Teach/mentor others
Habit 7 ½: Play
I find Habit 1: Begin with the end in mind to be the most difficult. I like to gather a lot of information before I make a judgment or a commitment, so it is hard for me to commit to a goal when I think things might change. I was reassured that I can update my goals if I need to during this course, so I boldly wrote my goal of finishing all 23 assignments before the end of this school year.
The easiest habit for me is Habit 7 1/2: Play. I am playful by nature and don't really know how to stop playing. I find it easiest to try new things and take on new challenges when they are in the context of play. The stakes don't seem so high and I don't have a sense of success or failure at the outset of an endeavor.
